Our Award Winning 'Malmesbury King' Sausage
In 2010 Mrs Christine Hamilton mentioned a competition she had read about in Country Life Magazine and asked Michael if he would like to be nominated. The competition was to find Britain's best sausage. So Michael and Sandy sat down and came up with The Malmesbury King.
Not really expecting to get anywhere but very proud of the sausage they had made it was a surprise when they were asked to attend the final judging stage in London. The judging took place at Bar Boulud, the London restaurant owned by 3 Star Michelin chef Daniel Boulud, who was the head judge. The rest, as they say, is history.

Rooted in the rich heritage of Wiltshire, Michael's is a family-run butchers, that has become a true local institution.
Beginning his trade at just 12 years old, founder Michael Thomas built a business on strong relationships with local farmers and an unwavering commitment to quality.
The culmination of this dedication came in 2010 when he created the now-famous Malmesbury King sausage, which was crowned Britain's best.
To continue serving the community with the highest quality produce, Michael's expanded in 2019 to include a new bistro and deli, and now, this new venture of Michael's Sausage Shop where you can order his award-winning sausages straight to your door!
